Shadowfist Proving Ground Leagues
A Proving Ground League is a 13-week tournament series for a given playgroup wherein players throw down for top honors as the community leader.
The Rules
1) Thirteen weeks of events are authorized for a given Proving Ground. If, for whatever reason, a playgroup must skip a week because too many people are missing or because a dingo ate someone's baby, then the group is authorized to push back the events by one week to maintain the full 13 events.
2) While not a requirement, groups are encouraged to experiment with the various formats available for Shadowfist tournaments. Here is a list of most currently used formats. So long as all players agree on the format beforehand, feel free to try out new deck concepts with these variants.
3) The duration of each week's event is at the discretion of the Proving Ground organizer. Traditionally, each week is a separate tournament with as many round as available in the time allotted by the meeting members. The more rounds you play each week, the more Secret War Society Points your players get!
4) Input tournament reports via the Enter New Tournament page found in the Secret War Society menu. If you do not have access to this feature, you may e-mail Daniel Griego your tournament results at icediadem@yahoo.com. Tournament reports and rules may be found here.
5) The final week may be a finals week of the top players from the first 12 weeks at the Proving Ground organizer's discretion.
6) Each week's winner will receive a promo for their prize (currently a "Machine Warrior"). All participants who play in at least one week's event will receive a "Scrounging." Misc. promos will be awarded at the discretion of the organizer. Organizers: be fair and creative with this distribution. While second place prizes are acceptable, we encourage frequent prizes to such thematic events as "Best Designator" in the Comrade in Arms event or "Best comeback after an earth-shattering attempt at taking a site." Have fun with this!
7) It is the organizer's responsibility to plan, organize and execute each week of the proving ground. This includes securing the promos from Daniel Griego and keeping all players informed on upcoming formats, dates, and special instructions.
8) Traditionally, a given playgroup has 2 Proving Grounds each year. This is to keep a single playgroup from running the table on SWS points and having their 5 players all be at the top of the annual rankings. This does not, however, keep a group from running monthly or special occasion tournaments during off-Proving Ground periods.
9) Minimum three players per week, even for a dueling event.
Have fun with these events and keep playing!

Cheers, all!
