Demo Decks

Looking to recruit new players?

Looking for a new way to get that promo you want?

Want to lighten your load of commons?

Build a demo deck!

Two demo decks earn you a new Promo from our list of available cards!
They're a great way to recruit new players by giving them a playable deck to play right away!

Some things to keep in mind when building a demo deck to either trade for a promo or give to a new player:

1) A deck made of all commons is fine, so long as it is playable. Remember, we want new players to enjoy the game!
2) Build a deck you would want to play. This is still completely possible with commons and uncommons.
3) Remember the 1/5 rules:
a. 1/5 Feng Shui
b. 1/5 Foundation Characters
4) Nothing too complex or requiring many combinations.
5) Single-faction decks preferred

Here's a breakdown of how demo decks should look:

50 cards total

11 Foundation Characters:
Five 1-Cost
Four 2-Cost
Two 3-Cost
Note: only five of these characters should provide talents if accessible by the faction.

Non-Foundation Characters (11 Total):
2 Utility Characters (1 or 2 Fighting Characters with a non-combat ability) (Vivisector, Muckraking Journalist, Confucian Sage)
2 Ability Characters with Fighting of 1 or 2 (Ice Falcons, Gruff Lieutenant, Shadow Creeper)
3 Characters with Cost 3 and Fighting 4 with an ability (Arena Warrior, Blasting Crew, Reluctant Hero)
1 Medium Hitter (fighting of 5 with an ability)
2 Characters with Cost 4 and Fighting 6 (CHAR, Fist of the Bear, $10,000 Man)
1 Hitter with fighting no less than 7 (Conversion Drone, Sword Saint)

11 Feng Shui Sites:
Try to focus on easy to find, alternate power-generating sites, such as Nine Dragon Temple, Grove of Willows and Blessed Orchard. Other simple utility sites such as Stone Garden, Jagged Cliffs and Cave Network are always good choices.

17 Sites, Events, States, Edges, Misc:
1 Foundation Site (Abominable Lab, Dragon Dojo)
3 Alternate Power Generation Events (Pocket Demon, Isothermal Zodiac, Bull Market)
1 Edge
Mix the remaining slots as you choose
